Sadia Lasseigne

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Sadia L. Lasseigne, 93, who passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue at 7:00 am until 10:15 am on Thursday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Rev. Donovan Labb will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Janet Lasseigne. Gift Bearers will be Joan Heiss and Michelle Pitt Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Lasseigne, a devout Catholic, was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Court St. Gregory No. 290 and the Parks Rosary Group. She was also a member of the Richard Champagne American Legion Auxiliary for 65 years and the Homemakers Club of Parks. Sadia was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting, cooking, and playing Bingo and Pokeno. She is survived by three sons, Richard (Doris) Lasseigne, Sr. of Groves, TX, Charles (Janet) Lasseigne of Parks, and Bernard "Benny" (Kate) Lasseigne, Jr. of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Judy (Bob) Dykes of Lafayette and Sylvia Roudeze of New Iberia; her daughter-in-law, Janet Lasseigne of Thibodaux; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 step great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Lasseigne, Sr.; her parents, Wilfred Lasseigne, Sr. and Yolande Cormier Lasseigne; her son, Leonard Lasseigne; her brother, Wilfred Lasseigne, Jr.; and three sisters, Madia Soignier, Odele Talley, and Delores Poche. Pallbearers will be Richard Lasseigne, Sr., Bernard "Benny" Lasseigne, Jr., Ross Lasseigne, Bob Dykes, Richard Lasseigne, Jr., and Josh Lasseigne.
