New Iberia - Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2007, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Rynanda "Tootie" Colton, 42, of Erath, who died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at her residence. Deacon Wade Broussard will officiate the service. "Tootie" loved to cook and watch the food network. She loved listening to country music. At one time, she had her own band, "The Country Flame Band". She touched so many people's lives with her courage and strength. Her will to keep fighting gave her faith and strength to keep fighting. She meant a lot to her daughter, Lauren. They were not just mother and daughter, they were friends. They shared a special bond that very few parents have. She had Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitus for 15 years. She fought everyday for 15 years, but still managed to smile. Survivors include her daughter, Lauren Tisdale and husband Brett of Erath; mother, Janel Abshire of New Iberia; half sisters, Sable Hebert and husband Wade of Lydia, Beverly Viator and husband Russell of Jeanerette; half brothers, Gilbert Migues and Kevin Migues; very special cousin/sister, Tammy Picard and fianc John Tilbury of New Iberia; special lifelong friends, Mary Claire Leonard of Lafayette, Jean Hebert of Milton, Sherry Trahan of Erath, Margaret Gonsoulin and Janine "Lil Bit" Abshire of New Iberia; numerous nieces, nephews, and "adopted children". She was preceded in death by her father, Lodia "LJ" Abshire; son, Colton Matthew Breaux; aunts, Anna Mae Lorraine, Leola Delahoussaye, Marlene Rials; uncles, Switzer Lorraine,Kelly Comeaux, Maxie Comeaux, RJ Bergeron, Johnny Rials, William Logue. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, from 9:00 AM until services at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. The family would like to extend special appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Jacques Noel, Susan Picone, Carolyn Rushing, Donna Trahan, Wilda Fontenot, and many other doctors and nurses, for the comfort and care that was given to "Tootie" Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, New Iberia, 365-3331, is in charge of the arrangements.
