Peggy Brasseaux

April 10, 1960 — November 25, 2011

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., on Monday, November 28, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Peggy Landry Brasseaux, 51, who passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Fr. Neil McNeill will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Alison Brasseaux and Mary Broussard. Gift Bearers will be Debbie Broussard and Monica Wright. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Peggy was employed by Zims Alignment, where she worked as a bookkeeper for 32 years. She married her high school sweetheart, her best friend, and the love of her life, Scott - together they shared 33 beautiful years of marriage, and raised two wonderful children, Ben and Leah, whom she adored more than life itself. Peggy was a breast cancer survivor, and despite her brief battle with cancer, she always managed to remain positive, no matter what. She was a beautiful woman with a smile that would light up a room and warm anyones heart; a genuine, kindhearted and compassionate person, who shared her love and concern of everyone she knew and met. Her care and devotion to her family was top-priority in her life, she loved going to the camp, and cooking and having her family over every weekend and just about every holiday as well. Everyone who knew Peggy, knew she loved to frequently pamper herself with a 'mani-pedi' and she loved to shop - it was 'her hobby,' as well as decorating and re-decorating her house, and working in her yard. Peggy always had a project in the works and Scott always made sure those projects were completed for her. Peggy loved unconditionally, her husband, her children, her family, and most especially her grandchildren, Emery Rose and Hayden Luke, whom she cherished beyond words. She will be sorrowfully missed by her family, friends, and all those who knew and loved her dearly. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Scott Brasseaux of Breaux Bridge; her son, Ben Scott Brasseaux and his wife, Alison, of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Leah Nicole Brasseaux and her fianc, Jason Duhon, of Maurice, her granddaughter, Emery Rose Brasseaux; step grandson, Hayden Luke Duhon; her mother, Rena Landry of Breaux Bridge; her brother, John Paul Landry and his wife, Danielle, of Milton; two sisters, Debbie Broussard and her husband, Michael, of Carencro, and Monica Wright and her husband, Curtis, of Breaux Bridge; and her father-in-law, Lolly Brasseaux, Sr. of Breaux Bridge. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Paul Landry; and her mother-in-law, Yvonne Guidry Brasseaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continue on Monday at 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Marcel 'Butch' Hebert at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Ben Brasseaux, John Landry, Jason Duhon, Ryan Broussard, Kyle Broussard, and Blaine Brasseaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Broussard, Lolly Brasseaux, Jr., Craig Brasseaux, Curtis Wright, Lane Kidder, Brett Landry, Chad Brasseaux, and Guy Zimmerman.
