Breaux Bridge - Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 pm, on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Norris Courville, 70, who passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2014 and continue at 8:00 am until 3:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Tina Bienvenu and Monica Verrette. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Chief Warrant Officer III, Norris Courville passed away at his residence with his loving wife Dianna Courville, his step-daughter Molinda Beth and his step son James Conley by his side from a brain disease called PSP. Norris honorably served in the United States Army for 25 years in the Korean and Vietnam War. Medals Norris received during his military career are the Army Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon Number 5 Expert, Parachute Expert Badge, Good Conduct Medal 2nd Award, and Rifle Marksman Medal. Norris was a Hawk Master Mechanics for 4 years, Hawk Fire Control Mechanic 1975, Jungle Warfare 1976, and Hawk Organization Maintenance Supervisor 1980. Norris was very Patriotic, serving his country in France, Europe and Greece. He served his last 8 years in Germany a place he loved. He was a dedicated military man who loved his family, sports, traveling, music, dancing, running marathons and working on air conditioners and refrigerators. Norris leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years, Dianna Royer Courville of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Monique (Eric) Hjalmquist of Aurora, CO; his step daughter, Molinda Beth Courville of Ragley his son, Todd Daniel Courville of Breaux Bridge; his step son, James P. (Michelle) Conley, Jr. of Ragley; his brothers, Alvin (Cheryl) Courville, Russell (Rosie) Courville, Alpha (Mary) Courville, Melvin Courville all of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Emeline Theriot of Catahoula, Lillian (Butch) Courville of Breaux Bridge, Paula Courville of Breaux Bridge, and Paulette (Clint) Dauphinet of Breaux Bridge; his grandchildren, Brittany Hjalmquist, Caroline Hjalmquist, Damion Conley, Dustin Courville, Dylan Conley, Emily Conley, Elaina Conley, and his granddaughter-in-law, Nicole Conley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alpha Courville, Sr. and Leona Castania Courville. Pallbearers will be Cody Courville, Jack Dale Courville, Mathew Theriot, Butch Sanson, Scott Courville, Brett Courville, and T. Mark Courville. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Courville, Russell Courville, Alpha Courville, and Melvin Courville. The family of Norris Courville, wish to thank Hospice of Acadiana for the excellent and compassionate care of Norris with special thanks to Debra his nurse and Carolyn the CNA who came by every day. Family appreciates all the calls, cards and visits during the illness of Norris. Norris and wife Dianna also give many thanks and gratitude for Diannes daughter Molinda Beth Courville who never left our side. She stayed day and night to help in every way we needed could never repay her for all she did in our time of despair.
