New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 3, 2009 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia for Monique "Niki" Meyer, 29, who died Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Iberia Parish. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Born on July 5, 1980 in Abbeville, Monique was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Survivors include her mother, Cleo McLean of New Iberia; father, Barry Meyer; grandparents, Charlie and Lucy McLean of New Iberia, Audrey Meyer of New Iberia; children, Skyla Maturin and Arturo both of New Iberia, Carlito Maturin of Pennsylvania; companion, Wayne Maturin of New Iberia; sisters, Heather Maturin of New Iberia, Kirstin Breaux and Alexia Breaux both of Scott; brothers, Jerry Meyer of New Iberia, Damien Landry of Franklin; aunts, Charlena McLean and Carlie Maturin both of New Iberia, Stella Casale of Lake Jackson, TX; cousins, Charley Alleman, Chassity Maturin, Kaleum and Kenzie Sonnier, Derrick Reaux all of New Iberia, Alicia Meyer of Carencro; special friend, Claudette Davis of Hackleberry, Alabama; special uncle, Jamie Meyer of New Iberia. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Etienne and Olive Viator Dore; great uncles, Freddie, George, and Jerry Dore; great aunts, Beulah Theriot, Vueola Gary, Mildred Kulify, Hazel Tate; grandfather, Benny Meyer; and her Uncle Nookie. Pallbearers include Trent Sonnier, Matt McLean, Edward Collette, Damien Landry, Mike Borel, and Dedrick. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 2:30 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Wednesday.
