Marie Guidry Guidry was born in Breaux Bridge , Louisiana on May 28, 1915 to Sidney and Cecile Guidry. She attended the Nina School in her primary years. She attended St. Bernard School and was the only graduate in 1933. Marie married Allen Guidry on December 18, 1937 . They spent 37 years in Baton Rouge for Allen's work at Exxon. During those years Marie and Allen built a camp at Bayou Pigeon. They spent long, happy hours, hunting and fishing in the swamp and made lifelong friends there. Upon Allen's retirement they moved into their new home on Guidry Road where they raised chickens, sheep, and an abundance of vegetables, fruit and pecans. All those activities they enjoyed doing together. Marie cared for Allen until his death in 2006. She lived the rest of her life in the home they built together. Marie 'Mie' was at home wherever she went - in her kitchen cooking, at a boucherie, in the swamp with Allen or in her rose garden. Above all she opened her heart and home to nieces, nephews, cousins and others, becoming a second mother to many. Mie was active in the church choir, in the Ladies Altar Society and was devoted to the holy rosary, always focusing on others needs. She is survived by her beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Guidry and Cecile Landry Guidry; her husband, Allen J.
