BreauxBridge - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Margaret 'Maggie' Gordon, 79, who passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Neil McNeill will officiate at the Funeral Mass. 'Maggie', as she was better known to her family and friends, worked at Abdalla's for 20 years and also owned and operated Calais' Club in the Grand Bois (Parks) area for a number of years. There she created a safe and fun environment for people to go to on weekends. In her free time she enjoyed sewing and the pleasures being outdoors while working in her vegetable garden, going to the local casinos, and dancing to Zydeco music. Her joy and zest for life that she shared with everyone will be deeply missed by her family and many friends that she's met through the years. Survivors include one son, Joseph Gordon, Sr. of Lafayette; two daughters, Linda Gordon and Martha Gordon Broussard, both of Lafayette; three brothers, Robert Auguillard of Parks, Charlie Auguillard of Breaux Bridge, and James Auguillard of Parks; one sister, Leona Boyd of Breaux Bridge; five grandchildren, Christina Boutte, Shamona Alfred, Joseph Gordon, Jr., Jennifer Gordon, and India Wiltz; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Dolores Detiege Auguillard; her twin sister, Maggie Auguillard; and several other brothers and sisters.
