New Iberia – A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Lyle Gabriel Chauvin, 85, who passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020, in New Iberia. A resident of New Iberia, LA, Mr. Chauvin was born on July 12, 1935, in Berwick, LA, to the late Gildon and Maggie Ursula Fabre Chauvin. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marines, during the Korean War, and worked as a professional commercial fisherman and trapper. Mr. Chauvin was an avid hunter and fisherman, a huge LSU Fan and forever a Marine. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, Mr. Chauvin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Chauvin of New Iberia; sons, Jerry Chauvin of Youngsville, Duane (Shirin) Chauvin of San Diego, California and Earl (Laurissa) Chauvin of Houston, Texas; daughters, Christina Chauvin Ziegeler of Youngsville and Rebecca Chauvin (Jude) Fouquier of Ventura, California; sisters, Gloria Chauvin Nini of Berwick and Lana Chauvin (Raymond) Hood of Des Allemandes; grandchildren, Jude Louis Fouquier, Jon Fouquier, Jake Fouquier, Julian Ziegeler, Lauren Chauvin, Andrew Chauvin, Emily Chauvin, Ellie Chauvin, Leo Chauvin, Matthew Chauvin, Jason Chauvin, and Marielle Lowes; great grandchildren, Jack Fouquier, Lucy Fouquier, Donovan Lowes, Rio Fouquier, and Quincy Fouquier; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Chauvin Lowes; brothers, Clayton Chauvin and Gildon Chauvin; and a sister, Faith Chauvin Mancuso.
