Louis Wiltz

August 5, 1942 — February 14, 2013

Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for Louis John Wiltz, 70, who passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville from 7:00 am until 9:30 am on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 am. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass and Msgr. Curtis Mallet will officiate over the Committal Service. Scriptures will be read by Marie Wiltz and Gift Bearers will be Blair, Brittney and Brooke Cormier. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Wiltz was cement finisher in the masonry industry, a profession in which he dedicated 45 years of his life to. He enjoyed his work and took great pride in it. He also enjoyed building things, gardening, and watching old western movies. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Hazel Valsin Wiltz of Parks; two sons, Brad Wiltz of Parks and Reggie Cormier of St. Martinville; six daughters, Michelle (Harvey) Mason of St. Martinville, Charlene (Larry, Jr.) Coutee of New Orleans, Belinda Wiltz of Lake Charles, Blair Cormier, Brittney Cormier, and Brooke Cormier, all of St. Martinville; three brothers, Edward (Edna) Wiltz of Parks, Francis (Shirley) Wiltz St. Martinville, and Robert (Betty) Wiltz of Parks; two sisters, Mabel Wiltz and Cecile Wiltz, of Parks; and two grandchildren, Elijah & Gianna Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents, Curly and Bernadette Dick Wiltz; and his sister, Mary Dugas. Pallbearers will be Brad Wiltz, Larry Coutee, Jr., Harvey Mason, Jonathan Wiltz, Vincent Wiltz, and Timothy Dugas. Honorary Pallbearer will be Reggie Cormier.
