New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM , Wednesday, November 10, 2010 , at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Kermit W. McDonald, Sr., 80, who passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Johnny Ward and Dr. Landrum P. Leavell, III will officiate. Born on March 16, 1930 in Vermilion Parish, Mr. McDonald was a retired rice and cattle farmer. He had a deep love for the Texas Hill Country, deer hunting, and for Mason , Texas . A member of the First Baptist Church of Delcambre, he was also a member of the Abbeville Masonic Lodge No. 192 , the Aurora Masonic Lodge No. 193, the Lake Charles Scottish Rite, Habibi Temple, the Coastal Shrine Club of Jefferson Island, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the LA. Cattleman's Association. He always enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruby Duhon McDonald of New Iberia ; sons, Michael W. McDonald and wife Donna of New Iberia, Kermit McDonald, Jr. of New Iberia; daughter, Tina McDonald Broussard and husband George of New Iberia; brothers, Joseph Berwick 'JB' McDonald, Jr. and wife Rita of New Iberia, Henry McDonald and wife Dot of New Iberia, Allen McDonald of New Iberia; sister, Catherine McDonald Darcey and husband Donald of New Iberia; brother-in-law, Eugene Duhon, Jr. and wife Ruby of New Iberia; grandchildren, Bradley McDonald, Lisa McGee, Adam McDonald, Megan McDonald, K.T. McDonald, Zack McDonald; great grandchildren, Madison McGee, Emily McGee, Jonathan McDonald, Noah Jenkins; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Berwick McDonald, Sr. and Ora Bailleaux McDonald; and a sister, Gwinnie McDonald Broussard. Pallbearers will be Bradley McDonald, Adam McDonald, K.T. McDonald, Zack McDonald, Eugene Benoit, and Mark McDonald. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM . Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
