BreauxBridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, February 21, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Joycelyn Allemond Dupuis, 79, who passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Neil McNeill will conduct the services. Scriptures will be read by Cherri Lynn Degeyter, Roxann Touchet, her eldest granddaughters, and Mavis Landry, her godchild. Gift Bearers will be Brittnay and Heather Dupuis, along with her remaining granddaughters. Joycelyn was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and great grandmother who took great pride in raising her eleven children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to having family gatherings on any occasion possible. In her free time she enjoyed taking care of her plants, crocheting, going to the local casinos, playing Pokeno, and traveling, most especially along the beaches of the Gulf Coast. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Simon Dupuis of Breaux Bridge; four sons, Eddie Dupuis (Arlene) of Breaux Bridge, Ray Dupuis (Ludy) of Cecilia, Norris Dupuis (Barbara) of Henderson, and Keith Dupuis (Pam) of Breaux Bridge; seven daughters, Rose Dupuis of Breaux Bridge, Gail Robin (Ron) of Henderson, Nellie Dupuis of Breaux Bridge, Nancy Meche (Norman) of Arnaudville, Charlotte Dupuis of Breaux Bridge, Colleen Dupuis of Lafayette, and Allison Dupuis (Lloyd Perry) of Breaux Bridge; five brothers, Edrick 'Pete' Allemond of Breaux Bridge, Pierre Allemond, Jr. of Henderson, Allen Huval (Dot) of Pierre Part, Tommy Huval (Cheryl) of Jennings, and Aubrey Huval (Ottilia) of Parks; four sisters, Eula Mae Landry, Ethel Mason (Charles), Glenda Patin, and Pauline Dugas (Jim), all of Breaux Bridge; 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Pierre Allemond, Sr.; her mother Lydia LeBlanc Huval; her step father, Alley 'Tezan' Huval; a brother, Patrick Allemond; and a sister, Delores Huval. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday. A Rosary will be recited by Father Neil McNeill at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brandon Britten, Scotty Robin, Brock Dupuis, Nicholas 'Nick' Dupuis, Shannon Dupuis, and Lance Meche. Honorary pallbearers will be Brook Dupuis and Gaven Snyder, her grandsons. The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their care and support, especially her loving caregiver, Karen Smothers. They would also like to send their love to their special aunt, Taunte Eule, for once again being there for us in our time of need to guide us.
