John Nelson Conner

New Iberia - Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for John Nelson Conner, 65, who passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing. Deacon Durk Viator will be the Officiant. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday. A native of New Iberia, Louisiana, John Nelson Conner was born on February 16, 1955 to the late Preston James Conner and Whilimene Boutte Conner. He was a 1974 Graduate of New Iberia High School, and was a utility worker for LAWCO for over 30 years. Mr. Conner enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool. He was a loving father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed. Mr. Conner is survived by his children, Johnae Conner and John Nelson Conner, II; sisters, Gloria Barlow of Dallas, Elva Ford of Olivier, and Frances "Vern" (husband Wilfred) Polk of Olivier; a brother, Preston James (wife Betty) Conner, Jr. of Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, Breshanna and E.J. Frank; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Louella Carvin and Ruby Armstead.
