Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson, for John Thompson "Payane" Hayes, Jr., 71, who passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 2:15 pm on Saturday. Pastor Joe Jenkins will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Henderson. 'Payane,' as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, enjoyed fishing and crawfishing. He loved to go dancing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his companion, Karleen Frederick of Carencro; two sons, Dean (Casie Breaux) Hayes of Cecilia and Jerry (Amanda) Hayes of Henderson; four daughters, Sylvia (Wayne) Flake of Henderson, Cathy Courville of Breaux Bridge, Jacinta "Cindy" Hayes and Nicky (Daniel) David, all of Henderson; two brothers, Michael Hayes and Wilven (Evelyn) Hayes, all of Henderson; his sister, Thelma Dupuis of Henderson; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Thompson Hayes, Sr. and Ophelia Martin Hayes; four brothers, Fred, Jeffery, Lawnel and Howard Hayes; his sister, Elaine Ray; and a grandson, Mark Mouton. Pallbearers will be Dean Hayes, Jerry Hayes, Wayne Flake, Daniel David, Christopher Doucet, and Kirk Hamlett. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
