St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for George Etienne, Sr., 90, who passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at New Iberia Manor South.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 70 years, Mildred Etienne; sons, George Etienne, Jr. and wife Linda, Walter Etienne, Sr. and wife Gwen, Willis Etienne and wife Sandra and Clifford Etienne, Sr. and wife Elouise; daughters, Lucindy Perrodin and husband Bobby and Judy Moore and husband Kenneth, Sr.; brother, Roy Etienne and wife Marie; sisters, Lucy Savoy and Rita Mallery and husband Nolan; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Fontenette; brother-in-law, Willis Matthews and wife Jo Ann; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Etienne, Sr. and Amelia Etienne; son, Dalton Etienne; infant daughter, Josephine Etienne; infant son, Warren Etienne; brothers, Jules Etienne, Jr., Rev. Clifton Etienne, Junius Etienne, Norris Etienne, Melton Etienne, Francis Etienne, Dalton Etienne, Walton Etienne and Horace Etienne; sister, Louise Washington and Amelia Lee; great-granddaughter, Kensli Moore.
Pallbearers will be Jacory Perrodin, Kenneth Moore, Jr., Clifford Etienne, Jr., Walter Etienne, Jr., Brandon Etienne and Kenneth Moore, Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Etienne, Jr., Walter Etienne, Sr., Willis Etienne, Clifford Etienne, Sr., George Etienne, III and Landon Bourda.
