Gary Dance

New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Gary Dance, 64, who passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, in New Iberia. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Tuesday. A native of Alexandria and a resident of New Iberia, Gary Dance was born in Maryland on February 9, 1956 to the late Eugene Edward Dance and Mary Jane Bell Dance. He worked in the oilfield most of his life. Working on his hot rods and drag racing were his favorite past times. He was an avid LSU fan, and what he cherished most was time spent with his family and close friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mr. Dance is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Zachary Broussard of Lafayette; three brothers, Kenneth (wife Susan) Dance of Point, TX, Myrl Dance of Summerville, SC, and Robert Dance, Sr. of Pineville, LA; two sisters, Jerrie Dance (husband Jan) Mabus of Lakewood, CO, and Mary Dance (husband Johnny) Van Meter of Elizabethtown, KY; and two grandsons, Hudson and Maverick Broussard of Lafayette; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Stacey Dance.
