Jeanerette - Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2013, at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette, for Gail Marie Jackson, 55, who died on Thursday, June 27, 2013 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in the Elijah Merritte Eternal Rest Cemetery, in Jeanerette A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until Saturday at 10:00 AM at the First Good Hope Baptist Church in Jeanerette. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at First Good Hope Baptist Church in Jeanerette. Visitation will continue at 10:00 AM at the First Jerusalem Baptist Church until time of service.Born on April 8, 1958, Mrs. Jackson established the Willing Workers Food Pantry, and was the First Lady at First Good Hope Baptist Church. A member of the Sister to Sister Group at her church, Mrs. Jackson enjoyed helping others and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Ronald Jackson, Sr. of Jeanerette; mother, Sylvania White Key of Jeanerette; father, Roland Alexander, Sr. of Jeanerette; sons, Ronald Jackson, Sr. and wife Nakita of Ft. Polk, Corey Jackson of Jeanerette; daughter, Brandy Jackson of Jeanerette; brothers, Roland Alexander, Jr. and wife Loretha, Lorybort Ray Alexander and wife Penny, Marcell Jerome Key, Sr. all of Jeanerette, Alfred James Alexander and wife Catherine of New Iberia; sisters, Cheryl Boutte of St. Martinville, Myrna Hunt, Georgie Alexander, and Melinda Clavelle and husband David all of Jeanerette; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Nell Alexander, and a grandchild, Corey Jackson, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
