Eric Cormier

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Eric Cormier, 86, who died Sunday, May 11, 2005 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Cormier was veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He served as an usher at St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed many sports. Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Calais Cormier of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Randy "Crip" Cormier of Breaux Bridge and Kenneth "Nu Nu" Cormier and his wife, Barbara of North Carolina; one daughter, Betty C. Smothers and her husband, Neal of Mandeville; one brother, Rodney Cormier and his wife, Doris of New Iberia; and three grandchildren, Gabe Cormier of Breaux Bridge, Melissa Smothers of Lafayette and Tony Smothers of Bossier, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adelma and Jeanne Begnaud Cormier; his sister, Lillian Jacobson; and one brother, Leroy Cormier. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5 PM - 10 PM on Monday and continue at 7 AM on Tuesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Monday evening. Pallbearers will be Gabe Cormier, Rodney Cormier, Greg Cormier, Mac Cormier, Brian Gonsuron and Pat Laneaux. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
