Dolores was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church; a devout Catholic who always put her complete faith and trust in God first and above all else. She married the love of her life, Raymond, on December 17, 1949 , and spent many years traveling with him while he was in the Air Force, before returning to their hometown of Breaux Bridge upon his retirement. Dolores was very active - she loved going to her Aerobics classes and enjoyed traveling. She was a wonderful baker and loved baking her famous Apple Cake for her family and friends to enjoy. There are hardly enough words to describe Dolores, other than she had a very nurturing, compassionate, and loving heart. The warmth of her heart showed through her beautiful smile and that little 'sparkle' in her eyes. She never met a stranger who didnt fall in love with her in an instant. Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her family, no matter the occasion. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the honor and privilege of knowing and loving her. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 plus years, Raymond John Guidry of Breaux Bridge; her sons, Kenneth Guidry of Mandeville, David Guidry and his wife, Mary, of Youngsville and Keith Guidry of Breaux Bridge; her grandchildren, Shannon Guidry, Kami G. Thibodeaux, Erin G. Frederick, Jessica Guidry, John Guidry and Gena Guidry; and her great grandchildren, Morgan Guidry, Gage Guidry, Jake Thibodeaux, Madison Frederick and Callen Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony 'Tony' and Birdie Mathieu Blanchard and her sister, Yvonne Latiolais. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be her sons, grandsons and Gena Guidry, Timmy Frederick and Kasey Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be the members in her exercise group, Norris Latiolais, Russell Landry, and Patrick Landry. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
