Darrel Guidry

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Darrel J. Guidry, 72, who passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Rite of Christian Burial. Readers will be Koi Periou, Bree Guidry, and Madison Guidry. Interment will be at a later date. Darrel was born December 20, 1945. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Darrel worked as an automotive mechanic for many years. He owned Guidry's Automotive and later worked for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. In his younger years, Darrel played the drums for the band, Starlighters. He enjoyed attending car shows, street rod cars, and restoring old cars. Darrel loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by them. He is survived by his loving spouse of 44 years, Peggy Monk Guidry; his son, Francis Guidry and wife Shayna; his daughters, Michelle Pryor and husband Reagan, Amy Breaux and husband Kenneth, Cindy Guidry and Hali Monk; his sisters, Shirley Babineaux and Sally Trahan; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Dufrene, Koi Periou, Summer Breaux, Destanee Breaux, Kasper Breaux, Dylan Guidry, Faith Guidry, Bree Guidry, Madison Guidry, Lucas Guidry, Jace Guidry, Alicyn St. Amant, Bruce St. Amant and Shelbi St. Amant; his great grandchildren, Gia Dufrene, Kaylin Periou, Miley Periou, and Addison Periou. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dora Guidry; his son, Chad Guidry; his brothers, Francis Guidry and Earl Guidry; his sister, Gloria Conques and Rena Sandoz.
