Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. , on Monday, August 22, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Clay Joseph Huval, 89, who died on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his residence. Fr. Donald Pousson will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Trisha Huval and Nicholas LeBlanc. Serving as gift bearers are Trisha and Christopher Huval Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2, in Breaux Bridge . A veteran of World War II, Mr. Huval honorably served his country in the United States Marines from January 27, 1942 until January 26, 1956 and was a member of the American Legion Post 133 in Breaux Bridge . He was a member of the Crusin Cajuns Motor Coach Club. He was a retired jeweler and watchmaker, a profession which required patience, precission, and intricate detailing - a job in which he loved and took great pride in. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Millie Begnaud Huval of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Michael Huval and his wife, Tiffany, and Brian Huval and his wife, Jackie, all of Breaux Bridge; one daughter, Sharon H. LeBlanc and her husband, Rodney, of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Nicholas LeBlanc, Trisha Huval, Christopher Huval, and Bo Credeur; and two great granddaughters, Emma Grace LeBlanc and Sage Hebert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Huval, Jr. and Antoinette Hebert Huval; a brother, Simon Huval; and his granddaughter, Heather LeBlanc. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011 and continue on Monday at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Mike Huval, Brian Huval, Christopher Huval, Nick LeBlanc, Bo Credeur and Charlie Begnaud. Mr. Huval's family would like to extend their sincerest special thanks to Shelby Credeur, granddaughter-in-law and R.N., along with Shawn Francis, Donna Patin, and Pat Comeaux, who provided compassionate care and assistance during his time of need. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital , 501 St . Jude Place , Memphis , TN 38105 ; or to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion St., Ste. 200 , Lafayette , LA 70501 . Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
