; ; Memorial services will be at 7:00 PM Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Claven 'CJ' Frederick, Jr. 58, of Kingwood, Texas, who passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 surrounded by his family.Deacon Wade Broussard will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. CJ was born December 11, 1953 in New Iberia, LA. After graduating from New Iberia High, he joined the United States Air Force. Following his service, he returned to Louisiana to pursue a degree in Computer Science from the University of Southwest Louisiana. During that time, he met and fell in love with Yvonne Rodrigue. They married August 12, 1978 and just celebrated 34 years of marriage. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Utah where they resided until their first daughter, Melissa, was born. They returned to Louisiana to be close to family and soon after their twins, Sarah and Amanda, were born. In 1986, they relocated to Kingwood, TX where they have lived for the last 26 years. During this time, CJ earned a MBA from the University of Houston and was currently employed with SAP. CJ cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a passion for volunteerism and live music, which he shared with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Rodrigue Frederick; daughters, Melissa Demand and husband Andrew of Austin, TX, Sarah Frederick of Austin, TX, and Amanda Melancon and husband David of Austin, TX; step mother, Shirley Frederick; step father, Ronald Pickett; brothers, Gerald Fredrick and wife Jeannie of Atlanta, Georgia, Ricky Frederick and wife Rose of New Iberia, LA, Terry Frederick and wife Beth of New Iberia, LA, Robert Frederick and wife Joan of Lafayette, LA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claven 'Cleve' Frederick Sr. and Ursule Carlin Pickett. The family of CJ Frederick would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center, especially Dr Fredrick B. Hagemeister and the doctors and staff of the Lymphoma department as well as the nurses of G15. Also, we would like to thank the wonderful staff of Odyssey Hospice.
