Benoit Latiolais

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Benoit Latiolais, 84, who passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Donald Pousson will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Catherine Broussard and Stacy Ingram. Gift Bearers will be Darnall Tauzin and Troy Latiolais. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Latiolais was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was retired from the St. Martin Parish Government, where he worked as a foreman for numerous years. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed horse racing. Survivors include his loving wife, Hazel Benoit Latiolais; his daughter, Gail Marks and her husband, Paul; two sons, Tracy Latiolais and his wife, Gail, and Timmy Latiolais; three brothers, Meonce Latiolais, Gerald Latiolais, and Raymond Latiolais; all of Breaux Bridge; three grandchildren, Stacy Ingram, Catherine Broussard, and Kelly Marks; and three great grandchildren, Kinzie LeBlanc, Elizabeth Ingram, and Anzlie Ingram. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florent and Bella Thibodeaux Latiolais; and two brothers, Howard and Levy Latiolais. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Timmy Latiolais, Paul Marks, Kelly Marks, Kinzie LeBlanc, Tim Ingram, and Justin Broussard. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
