Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Andrella Hypolite Thomas, 80, who passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012, at St. Martin Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, May 26, 2012 . A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Saturday. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge . She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Isaac Alex Thomas of Breaux Bridge ; her sons, Isaac D (Rachael) Thomas of Saint Martinville and Everette P. (Raquel) Thomas of Breaux Bridge; her five grandchildren, Jeremy Thomas, Andrel Thomas, Darrein Thomas, Chandler Thomas and Chemeka Thornton; and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Filer and Edna Ledet Hypolite; son, Brette Thomas; brother, Arthur Hypolite and her sisters, Ethel Wiltz and Elveria Thibodeaux. Mrs. Andrella was a member of St. Paul s Society, Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Peter Claver and the Louisiana Teachers Association. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. The aroma of her cooking brought curiosity to the ingredients used to prepare her meals. Her chocolate coconut cake and pralines put a smile on your face that would last for days. Andrellas love for children guided her to a career of teaching for 31 years. She enjoyed watching a child blossom from their first day of school to the last and the preparation to taking the next step in their lives. Even after retirement, her love for children continued to grow. If she saw a child in the super market, she could not resist squeezing their cheeks and expressing her love to them. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, teaching ability, and the legacy she leaves behind. Pallbearers will be Andrel Thomas, Jeremy Thomas, Darrein Thomas, Chandler Thomas, Stephen Hypolite and David Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Lewis, Filer Wiltz, Junius Wiltz, Alvin Wiltz, Arthur C. Hypolite, Gilbert Matthews, Jody Guiliam, Anthony Derouselle and Randall Menard. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
