Alfred Dauphine

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Alfred D. Dauphine, Sr., 77, who died Friday, April 06, 2007 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery ?in St. Martinville. Mr. Dauphine enjoyed reading the newspaper and working crossword puzzles. He loved to cook and reminisce of days gone by along with remembering old war stories with his family and friends. Greta's Turf Drill Lounge was one of his favorite places to spend time. Wearing a nice suit was one of his signatures. He will be greatly missed by his relatives and friends, especially for his loving and carefree spirit. Survivors include one son, Alfred D. Dauphine, Jr. of Houston, TX; one daughter, Cynthia Dauphine of Texas; and one sister, Greta Decuir of St. Martinville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Anthony Dauphine; and two sisters, Mary Bella Smith, and Mary Lorraine Dauphine Wiltz. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and continue until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
