Alexander Courville

September 5, 1925 — February 18, 2010

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Alexander T-Son Courville, 84, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No.1, in Breaux Bridge. Father Paul LaFleur will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Taylor Courville and Jenny Castille. Gift Bearers will be Rachel Vice and Jordy Broussard and Altar Servers will be Lane, Alex, and Anthony Boudreaux. Alexander retired from Texaco after 39 years of service. He was known by many of his co-workers as Breaux Bridge. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, American Legion and Woodmen of the World. In his retirement he enjoyed barbecuing for his family and keeping a garden. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Verly Wiltz Courville; four daughters, Delores Boudreaux and her husband Ray; Janel Boudreaux and her husband John, Jr.; Susan Broussard and her husband Michael all of Breaux Bridge; Peggy Vice and her husband Daniel of New Iberia; one son, Terry Courville and his wife Vickie of Breaux Bridge; his brother Aldus Courville; 19 grandchildren Mark, Don, Ben, Remy, Luke Boudreaux, Sara B. Devillier; Jenny B. Castille, Ryan, Nicholas, Alex Boudreaux; Kathryn, Stephen, Rachel Vice; Justin, Jared, Jace, Jordy Broussard; Taylor, Tyler Courville; 20 great grandchildren; and one foster sister, Verna Boyer of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvan and Lucillia Theriot Courville; his brothers Aristille, Alcee, and Alpha Courville; grandchildren Nicole Boudreaux, Sean and Brett Boudreaux, and Alison Vice; great grandchildren Mary Jo, Henry, Adam and Eric Boudreaux; his foster family Luke & Feliciane Boyer, Wade and Charles Boyer. A special Thank you to LaTonya, Christie and Michelle of IBC Hospice; and Bridget Courville (sitter), who helped in caring for Alexander during his illness. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Ray Boudreaux, John Boudreaux, Jr., Daniel Vice, Michael Broussard, Terry Courville, and Tyler Courville. Honorary pallbearers will be his brother, Aldus, and his 19 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to IBC Hospice, P. O. Box 930, Youngsville, LA 70592. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
