Adria Zea

New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Adria Baker Zea, 76, who died on Friday, May 31, 2013 in New Iberia. Rev. Tracy King, and Rev. Weldon Moak will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A graduate of U.S.L., Mrs. Zea was born on May 28, 1937, and was a retired third and fourth grade teacher, having taught at Youngsville Elementary. She enjoyed living and traveling, with her husband Bill, in their RV, spending winters in South Texas and summers in Alaskan. Her hobbies included sewing, and quilting, however her passion was Alaska Fishing. Mrs. Zea was always willing to help others. She was especially proud of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Above everything, her family always came first. Survivors include her husband, William 'Bill' Zea of New Iberia; daughters, Deanna Pierce and husband Asa Dotzler of LaHonda, CA; Danita Broussard and husband Joey of New Iberia; son, Chris Pierce and wife Ann of Jennings; brothers, Marvin Baker of Anderson, IN, Robert Baker and wife Betty of Bedfor, IN, Edgar Baker of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Anita Roach and husband Leon of French Lick, IN, Joyce Collins of French Lick, IN; grandchildren, Jacob Pierce, Morgan Tracy, Adria Broussard, Elliott Broussard, Alyssa Broussard; great grandchildren, Marley Pierce, Gracie Pierce, and Logan Pierce. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Daisy Scruggs Baker; brother, Daniel Keith Baker; sisters, Grace Evelyn Flick, Marian White. ;Mrs. Zeas family would like to give special thanks to AAA Hospice, Erica Simon, Gail, and Dr. Jason Landry, for their extraordinary care and compassion.
