New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Willis Kingston Boroto, 72, who passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, in New Iberia. Entombment will be at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A native of New Iberia, Mrs. Boroto was born on September 18, 1946 to the late Joseph R. Kingston, Jr. and Wilma See Kingston, and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High. She attended LSU and then received her Bachelors Degree from North Texas University. Mrs. Boroto was very active in our community serving as President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Acadiana Women’s League and the American Business Women’s Association, and Vice President and Treasurer of the Iberia Parish Chapter of AARP. She was co-owner of Kingston Construction and retired from Dauterive Hospital. Mrs. Boroto was a Safe Driving Instructor, and a voting commissioner, and was also active in IPAL, and the Bayou Teche Museum, where she played a vital part in their annual Gala. For many she will also be remembered for her delicious almond cake. Survivors include her children, Teresa Lee of Maumelle, AR, Dennis Boroto of Tulsa, OK and Cheryl Deierlein and husband Matthew of Mayflower, AR; brother, Howard Kingston and wife Lorraine of New Iberia; grandchildren, Andrew Lee and wife Virginia, Neale Deierlein, Benjamin Deirlein and wife Alexis, Samuel Deierlein, Cassie Deierlein, and Logan Deierlein; a great grandchild due in March; nieces, Sarah Kingston Stolp and husband Zach, and Christine Kingston Shambaugh and husband Jeff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Paul Boroto; brother, Joseph R. Kingston, III; and a sister, Sarah Frances Kingston.
